Migration is leaving a home behind

Migration is leaving a home behind.
A language, a voice, a scent, a morning habit… Migration begins—sometimes by choice, but most often by necessity—at a border gate, in the weight of a suitcase, or in a single glance. Refugee, immigrant, exile… Though the names may change, a common mark remains in the heart of the migrant: mourning what was lost while carrying the strangeness of what is held onto.
Migration is not merely a physical displacement; it is the rewriting of identity, the tearing and reweaving of relationships, the questioning of belonging, and a wound often carried in silence. This is precisely why group psychotherapies offer a powerful stage to compassionately touch the traces left by migration, to give voice to the unspoken, and to make the invisible visible.
At this year’s International Group Psychotherapies Congress, centered on the theme of “Migration,” we will gather with experts from various cities across our country and from around the world. We will discuss the psychological, social, and cultural impacts of migration; sharing our experiences, methods, and testimonies.
We invite you to discuss the individual and social traces of migration together; to experience the healing power of togetherness under the sky of Asklepion.
Take your place in this testimony. Let us meet in Bergama.
