How to get to Torino?

Getting to Torino is easy thanks to its strategic position in north-western Italy, close to France and Switzerland, and its excellent national and international connections.

By plane

Torino is served by Torino – Caselle “Sandro Pertini” International Airport (IATA code: TRN), located about 16 km north of the city centre.
The airport offers direct flights to and from major European destinations, as well as frequent domestic connections with cities such as Roma, Napoli, Catania, and Palermo.

From the airport it’s possible to reach the city:

  • by train, with a service that connects the airport with Torino Porta Susa station (travel time: about 30 minutes). Check com/en for timetable, inserting “Torino Aeroporto di Caselle” as the departure station).
  • by bus, with direct shuttle services from the airport to the city centre and the main railway stations (Arriva or Flibco).
  • by taxi, at a fixed fare of €40. To request a taxi, you can call +39 011 5737 or +39 011 5730.

Torino is also conveniently accessible from three major airports in Milano:

  • Milano Malpensa (MXP) – Connected to Torino by direct Arriva buses. (Arriva, Flixbus and others)
  • Milano Linate (LIN) – Linked to Torino via FlixBus services (Flixbus) or by taking the Blue Line of the Milan Underground to “Milano Centrale” and then a train to Torino (Trenitalia)
  • Bergamo Orio al Serio (BGY) – Connected to Torino by FlixBus, with several daily departures (Flixbus).

These Milano airports offer a wide range of international flight options and represent a useful alternative to Torino – Caselle.

By train

Torino has two main railway stations:

  • Porta Nuova – located in the city centre
  • Porta Susa – hub for high-speed trains

The city is well connected by high-speed service from:

Milano (≈ 45 minutes)

Roma (≈ 4.5 hours)

Firenze (≈ 3 hours)

Venezia (≈ 3.5 hours)

Paris (≈ 6 hours, via TGV or Trenitalia service – Frecciarossa)

(Trenitalia, Italo, TGV)

By car

Torino is easily accessible by highways:

  • From Milano: A4 motorway (about 140 km)
  • From Genova: A21 and A6 motorways
  • From France (via Mont Blanc or Frejus tunnels): A5 motorway
  • From Switzerland: via A4/A5 or the Simplon route

Please note that the Venue, in Torino city centre, is in a restricted traffic zone (Zona ZTL). It is therefore recommended to park in public car parks, hotel garages, or private garages.
If you are interested in reserving a private garage, please contact the event management team by e-mail.

By bus

Several long-distance bus companies (FlixBus, MarinoBus, Itabus, etc.) connect Torino with major Italian and European cities at competitive prices.

For local transportation, the Star 2 electric bus connects Porta Susa station (“Corso Bolzano” side) with key points in the city centre, including areas next to the Venue (stop “Corte d’Appello”).
In addition, Tram line 4 provides a direct connection from Porta Nuova to the Venue (stops Duomo and Garibaldi), as well as to several central and northern areas of the city.

Theatre Performance

Monday, June 8th

“A Hat for Moreno” – MoMu Teatro (Moreno Museum Association)

Participants are invited to the theatre performance “A Hat for Moreno”, presented by the Moreno Museum Association and performed by the MoMu Teatro group. The play (in Italian) portrays key episodes from the early European life of J. L. Moreno and shows how his personal experiences and relationships helped shape the roots of psychodrama.

Under the guidance of the director and psychodramatist Donatella Lessio, the production was created through a co-creative process with a group of non-professional actors including some students and alumni of the “Studio di psicodramma” lnstitute. Actors take turns embodying Moreno by wearing his symbolic “hat,” reflecting the creative and relational essence of his method.

The pièce was performed in Vienna in April 2024 during the Psychodrama Around the World Congress and has since been staged in several cities, including Torino, Provaglio d’Iseo (as part of “Psicodramma a Più Voci”), Brescia, Lucca (at the historic former psychiatric hospital of Maggiano).

To support non-Italian-speaking participants, printed summaries in English will be distributed in the theatre hall to facilitate understanding of the performance.

This special evening offers an engaging and artistic way to reconnect with the origins of psychodrama and celebrate Moreno’s legacy.

This event is included in the registration fee and represents one of the highlights of the meeting.

Social Dinner

Wednesday, June 10 th

The Social Dinner will take place at Ristorante Esperia, an elegant and historic venue located along the Po river, within the former rowing club Società Canottieri Esperia (Maps).

The Social Dinner is included in the registration fee and represents one of the highlights of the meeting.

Excursion

Thursday, June 11th

Participants will join a half-day excursion to discover the city of Torino. The program begins with a 50-minute panoramic bus tour (no intermediate stops) through the historic centre and along the Po river. The route includes Piazza Castello, Via Po, Piazza Vittorio Veneto, the Gran Madre, Monte dei Cappuccini, Borgo Medievale, Parco del Valentino, Stazione Porta Nuova, the Duomo, the Royal Museums area, Porta Palazzo, and the main streets of the old town.
An audio guide in eight languages (Italian, English, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Chinese, Portuguese) is provided, together with disposable earphones. Voluntarees and driver will accompany the group for the whole tour.

After the panoramic tour, participants will be accompanied on foot to visit one museum of their choice, selected at the moment of registration:

  • Palazzo Reale: the former Savoy royal residence, featuring richly decorated halls, historical collections, and one of the most important cultural complexes in the city. In 1946, the building became the property of the Italian State and was turned into a museum. In 1997, it was placed on the Unesco World Heritage site list along with 13 other residences of the house of Savoy. https://museireali.beniculturali.it/palazzo-reale/
  • Museo Egizio: one of the world’s leading museums dedicated to Ancient Egypt, with over 30,000 artefacts including statues, papyri, sarcophagi, and daily-life objects. The Egyptian Museum owns three different versions of the Egyptian Book of the Dead, including the most ancient copy known. One of the most relevant treasures is the Tomb of Kha and Merit, found intact by Schiaparelli in 1906 and transferred as a whole to the museum https://www.museoegizio.it/
  • National Cinema Museum: inside the Mole Antonelliana: an interactive and spectacular journey through the history of cinema, hosted inside Torino’s most iconic building. Experience the thrill of the cinema inside the Mole Antonelliana! You can discover first-hand the secrets of what goes on behind the camera and all the stages that go into making a film along a fun and interactive route: from shadow puppetry and early magic lanterns to the most spectacular special effects in modern cinema and virtual reality
    https://www.museocinema.it/it
  • Palazzo Madama: At Palazzo Madama visitors can go on a journey across time: the area of the moat displays medieval arts and crafts, with sculptures in stone, mosaics, and works in gold; next is the Medieval Garden, an oasis of peace and nature in the heart of Torino. On the ground floor, we find local Gothic and Renaissance art as well as an absolute masterpiece of Italian art: the Portrait of a Manby Antonello da Messina. The second floor hosts Baroque works. Then on the third floor, we find one of the most important collections in Europe of decorative arts from all eras: ceramics, works in ivory and gold, textiles, gilded glass, and paintings. Finally, visitors reach the Observation Tower, which offers a stunning view of the city and the surrounding countryside. https://www.palazzomadamatorino.it/en/

The excursion includes transportation, a coupon for a coffee break in a historical coffee shop chosen by the LOC and the museum entrance ticket. It offers a pleasant and relaxing way to conclude the week and experience Torino together.

At the end of the excursion, you can have your lunch together if you wish: a good way to say each other “See you next FEPTO meeting!”

It is not included in the fee. Let us know if you are interested, selecting it in the registration form so we can explore the best solution.

Event T-shirt

Participants will have the opportunity to pre-order the official event T-shirt during the online registration process by selecting their preferred size.
The T-shirt is not included in the registration fee and can be purchased with an additional contribution of 12,00 euros.

T-shirt details: T-shirts and shoppers come to life thanks to the labor of the social cooperative Extraliberi (extraliberi.it). These products are screen-printed by a group of adult inmates of the prison in Torino who are involved in a professional retraining experience that gives value to time spent in prison and transforms it into a concrete opportunity to grow and work.

The T-shirts are made of organic cotton 100%.

These T-shirts are unisex and designed specifically for the event. They will be available for collection at the registration desk upon arrival.

A Photographic Exhibition on Anne Ancelin Schützenberger

Inside the Venue’s cloister, a small and delightful exhibition celebrating Anne Ancelin Schützenberger (Moscow, 29th March 1919 – Paris, 23rd March 2018) the co-founder of FEPTO, featuring materials from her personal archive donated to the Moreno Museum Association, which professionally reorganized a collection of approximately 9 cubic meters of mixed documents and books that arrived in Torino from Paris.
